Lucas Reilly is a freelance journalist with 12+ years experience writing for print magazines, websites, podcasts, and radio. He specializes in cinematic, longform storytelling.

His work includes iHeartRadio’s acclaimed podcast “Forgotten: The Women of Juarez,” which was translated into three languages. He co-directed and wrote the iHeart Original podcast “Big Brother: North Korea’s Forgotten Prince.” He has scripted multiple Top 10 podcasts, including “The Good Thief” and “Very Special Episodes.” Currently, he’s a staff writer for the Murrow-winning cyber and intelligence program, “Click Here.

Lucas began his career as a print editor at mental_floss magazine, which was nominated for an A.S.M.E. award in “General Excellence.” His feature writing has been recognized by the editors of Longform and Longreads and shortlisted among the “Best science writing of the year.”

A generalist, Lucas has interviewed Britain’s last feudal lord, hunted for lost treasure in rural Virginia, and embedded with eclipse chasers in the badlands of Nebraska. He’s reported from a 600-mile-long yard sale, chatted with CIA analysts and North Korean insiders, and even profiled a man who tried to transform into a goat.

Lucas is also a professional pianist. In a past life, he worked as a cocktail pianist aboard a German cruise ship.
